Los Angeles – Million-dollar men were everywhere on the red carpet in Hollywood on Monday, July 20, at the Arclight Cinemas as the "Funny People" gang and their best pals celebrated the premiere of their new comedy. Starting with the flick's star, Adam Sandler, the highest-paid comedian in the world, who routinely makes $25 million per movie, adding in his co-star Seth Rogen, whose pockets are overflowing with revenues from both acting and screenwriting, and throw in writer-director-producer Judd Apatow, whose hits include "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" and "Knocked Up," and right there you have some the wealthiest guys working in Hollywood today. Plus, there was Eric Bana, who also stars in the comedy; he's been raking it in as a leading man ever since he had his own TV comedy show in Australia, but admits that most American audiences don't think of him as one of the "Funny People." "While I was given great opportunities here, I wasn't given comic opportunities," he said at an earlier press conference. "I was given dramatic opportunities, so there wasn't that much I was able to do or wanted to do about that. I was pretty burnt out of comedy by the time I walked away from it. Even though no one here had seen any of it, it was irrelevant to me. I was sort of done. But in this case, I think it's definitely given me a taste of how much more fun it is on set to do a comedy." Other million-dollar men on hand included Ryan Seacrest, who recently signed a $45 million deal with "American Idol," Chris Rock, Garry Shandling, David Spade and Don Johnson. A few pretty gals turned out for the show, too, including Apatow's wife Leslie Mann and their daughters ? all three star in his film, too ? plus Anna Faris, Rashida Jones, Elizabeth Banks, and Toni Collette. |
